Amethyst Radiotherapy Poland’s Expansion Featured in Gazeta Krakowska
The ongoing development of Amethyst Radiotherapy Poland, part of Stingray Healthcare, has been highlighted in Gazeta Krakowska, showcasing the centre’s expansion and continued investment in advanced radiotherapy technology.
The feature comes at an important time for Amethyst in Poland. Over recent years, the Kraków centre has been steadily modernising its technology and expanding its capabilities, with further developments already underway.
Expanding Radiotherapy Facilities in Kraków
A key development is the expansion of the centre’s infrastructure, including the construction of a fourth radiotherapy bunker and a second brachytherapy suite. These additions will increase treatment capacity and support the delivery of radiotherapy services.
Plans also include a dedicated MRI facility for radiotherapy treatment planning, providing clinicians with additional imaging capabilities to support precise and individualised treatment preparation.
The expansion builds on a wider modernisation programme. Between 2023 and 2025, all three linear accelerators at the centre were replaced with newer-generation systems, strengthening its radiotherapy capabilities.
Improving Radiotherapy Treatment Planning
The centre has also recently opened its second CT suite, further developing its treatment planning facilities.
CT imaging is an essential part of radiotherapy preparation, helping clinical teams accurately identify treatment areas and plan radiation delivery while minimising exposure to surrounding healthy tissues.
The new system supports planning for both external beam radiotherapy and brachytherapy, contributing to more efficient clinical workflows and treatment preparation.
Preparing for Adaptive Radiotherapy in 2027
Looking ahead, Amethyst Poland is preparing to introduce adaptive radiotherapy in 2027, enabling treatment plans to be adjusted in response to anatomical changes during a patient’s course of radiotherapy.
A new linear accelerator, alongside the modernisation of an existing system, is expected to support the introduction of this capability at the Kraków centre.
As highlighted by Przemysław Zachwieja, CEO of Amethyst Radiotherapy Poland, these investments form part of a broader approach to developing the patient pathway, from treatment planning and delivery to supportive care.
Alongside technological improvements, the centre continues to offer patients access to dietetic and psycho-oncology consultations.
Being featured in Gazeta Krakowska is an opportunity to share this progress with the wider community and highlight the work taking place behind the scenes in Kraków.
As the centre continues to grow, the focus remains the same: combining experienced clinical teams with modern radiotherapy technology to provide high-quality cancer care.
